This is a song recorded by the band Badfinger for inclusion on their 1971 album, Straight Up. The song was written by Pete Ham, produced by Todd Rundgren, and released on Apple Records. It regained fame several decades later upon being featured in the series finale of AMC's Breaking Bad.
lyrics
Guess I got what I deserved,
Kept you waiting there too long my love,
All that time without a word,
Didn't know you'd think that I'd forget,
Or I'd regret, the special love I had for you, my baby blue.
All the days became so long,
Did you really think I'd do you wrong?
Dixie, when I let you go,
Thought you'd realize that I would know,
I would show, the special love I have for you, my baby blue.
What can I do, what can I say?
'Cept I want you by my side,
How can I show you, show me a way,
Don't you know the times I've tried?
Guess that's all I have to say,
'Cept the feelin' just grows stronger every day,
Just one thing before I go,
Take good care, baby, let me know, let it show,
The special love you have for me, my Dixie dear.

Written by Pete Ham and Tom Evans of Badfinger. For this video and song I used Kurt Jones (Illinois) on guitar, Sal Marino (New York City) on bass and I played the rythym guitars and sang all the vocasls. This particular song was mixed by Pat Cederberg.
Started playing the guitar when I was 10 - took a 6 week crash course and was self-taught from there on. Played in a few
bands but always played. Technology has now allowed me to record my versions of songs and instead of just hearing the harmonies and other instruments in my head, I could now add them!
I hope you enjoy these songs!...more
