A 1968 song by The Beatles. It is credited to the songwriting partnership Lennon–McCartney, although it was actually written by Paul McCartney. It wasn't until 2002 that Paul was finally able to play this song live in Red Square!
lyrics
Flew in from Miami Beach BOAC,
Didn't get to bed last night,
On the way the paper bag was on my knee,
Man, I had a dreadful flight,
I'm back in the U.S.S.R.
You don't know how lucky you are, boy,
Back in the U.S.S.R.
Been away so long I hardly knew the place,
Gee, it's good to be back home,
Leave it till tomorrow to unpack my case,
Honey disconnect the phone,
I'm back in the U.S.S.R.
You don't know how lucky you are, boy
Back in the U.S., Back in the U.S., Back in the U.S.S.R.
Oh well the Ukraine girls really knock me out,
They leave the west behind,
And Moscow girls make me sing and shout,
That Georgia's always on ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-mind,
Oh come on
I'm back in the U.S.S.R.
You don't know how lucky you are boy
Back in the U.S.S.R.
Well the Ukraine girls really knock me out,
They leave the west behind,
And Moscow girls make me sing and shout,
That Georgia's always on ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-mind,
Oh, show me round your snow peaked mountains way down south,
Take me to you daddy's farm,
Let me hear you balalaika's ringing out,
Come and keep your comrade warm,
I'm back in the USSR
Hey, You don't know how lucky you are, boy,
Back in the USSR,
Oh, let me tell you honey

Many thanx to Robin Dalgleish for her keyboard work. I used the same keyboard to reproduce all the percussion parts as well. I played all the other instruments and sang all the vocal parts.
Started playing the guitar when I was 10 - took a 6 week crash course and was self-taught from there on. Played in a few
bands but always played. Technology has now allowed me to record my versions of songs and instead of just hearing the harmonies and other instruments in my head, I could now add them!
I hope you enjoy these songs!...more
